Born in 1974, he graduated in Decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1998 with a thesis on Graffiti. Since 2005 he has held the chair of Painting Disciplines at the Liceo Artistico in Palermo.
Artist active since 1996, mainly concerned with painting, with particular attention to the contaminations and hybridizations with other expressive media. Andrea Buglisi’s works have been presented in solo exhibitions and collective in Italy and abroad including the Mart museum of modern and contemporary art in Trento and Rovereto, Riso, Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily, Regional Gallery Palazzo Bellomo di Siracusa, Stadtgalerie of Kiel, Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf, Biennale in Venice etc.
In 2017 he designed and realized the triumphal chariot for the 393° Festino of S. Rosalia. From 2018, with the aim of conveying social messages towards a wider and transversal audience, is active in the urban regeneration of neighbourhoods and places at risk, through individual and collective artistic interventions of public art and Street Art that sometimes invest more facades of buildings. To name a few, the murals “Fides” on the occasion of the exhibition “Postcards from Ballaro” Palermo, of which he is also co-curator, today the focus of a documentary distributed on the Netflix platform and “The door of the Giants” near the bunker room of the prison Ucciardone of Palermo for which wins the Prestigious international recognition “Best of May 2021” according to the authoritative portal Street Art Cities Which also decrees, the urban diptych Countercurrent among the 50 most beautiful murals in the world in 2022.
It invited to several international festivals including «The art of living in villas» in Mons, Belgium in 2023 and Wuppertal Tanz in Wuppertal, Germany in 2024 where he makes a personal tribute to the work of the celebrated choreographer Pina Baush. Since 2023 she has been the artistic director of Bashke Urban Art in Piana degli Albanesi
