David de la Mano was born in Salamanca, Spain, in 1975. He is an urban artist, visual artist, sculptor and illustrator. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca. He is a professor of illustration at the University of Salamanca and a PhD candidate in Art History. Since 1993 he has worked as an artist making interventions in public spaces, covering everything from sculpture to installation and land art. Since 2008 he has focused on mural painting and since then his work has been developed in public spaces. He works with galleries in Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Spain.
His work focuses on human fragility, the nomadic or the hybrid. His work in public art ranges from mural art to the realization of specific interventions. His mural paintings are characterized by their marked poetic character. In turn, his pieces on paper or canvas, among other supports, are made with materials that range from pen work, watercolor, Indian ink, acrylic and collage.
